Background
"I completed my LLB degree at North-West University in 2008 and was admitted as an attorney in 2012. Over the years, I’ve worked as an attorney, prosecutor, and magistrate—gaining most of my experience in criminal law. Conveyancing was never part of my journey.
For six years, I served as a magistrate—committed, focused, and disciplined. When I applied for a permanent post, I believed my track record would speak for itself. But I didn’t get it.
That moment could have broken me—but instead, it sparked something deeper. I paused, looked inward, and asked myself a defining question: 'What do I want to build for myself?'
With vision and quiet resolve, I chose to create something of my own. On my terms. And from that decision, LSA was born."
On enrolling at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law
"I enrolled in the Structured 5-month course after hearing positive feedback from others who had completed Gawie’s conveyancing course. From the start, I approached it with a plan. I created a study roster and committed to working through each chapter independently first. After that, I listened to the corresponding recordings.
Once I completed a module, I did my own revision and then attempted the mock exams to test how much I had retained. I made notes of the areas I didn’t fully understand and revisited them—often by listening to the recordings again. These recordings were incredibly helpful. Reading the study material was one thing, but hearing Erinda explain it in such a clear and practical way truly deepened my understanding. "As a wife and mother of four boys under the age of ten, pursuing this goal required immense sacrifice. I sacrificed time with my family and December festivities. I sacrificed my sleep. But with my husband’s unwavering support and belief in me, I pulled through. He held everything together so I could stay focused.
I knew I had to keep my eyes on the bigger picture. If I was going to open my own practice—especially in George, a growing property hub—conveyancing had to be part of it.
I prayed and made my requests known to God. And I kept reminding myself: 'If I give this my all now, I may never have to write these exams again.'
