Julian Reynolds

Julian Reynolds passed the conveyancing exam during the first sitting in 2024.  He will now be admitted as a Notary and Conveyancer.

About Julian

Julian is currently employed as Legal Counsel for a bank.

Background

"I completed my BSocSci and LLB at UKZN and my Masters in Commercial Law (Private Equity) at UCT."

Motivation for enrolling at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law

"I enrolled as Gawie le Roux assisted me well for my notary exam and now it's also given me the knowledge and experience to pass my conveyancing.  I hope to attend the Practical conveyancing for attorneys course to assist me further in my practical experience."

Preparing for the conveyancing exam

"I attended both notary and conveyancing courses – the course assisted me in structuring my material and gave me the opportunity to conceptually understand the course material and prepare for the exams."

Julian's study tips for the oral exam

"In the event you get an oral – mind map all your work and be able to answer any questions.  Go through the work once more and the examination paper.  Also, know how to answer questions based on title deeds they give to you in the oral to look at."

A final word

"As Phil Knight once said: 'Just do it!'

It's possible to write and pass the exam with good prep and confidence in your work process."
