Charmaine Winter successfully completed the coursework for the LPC-accredited 150-hour GLR PVT School.
Planning and prioritisation earned her recognition as a top achiever at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law's PVT Awards Ceremony in July 2025.
About Charmaine
"I’m currently serving my articles at Combrink Greyling Attorneys, combining legal knowledge with hands-on administrative knowledge to guide clients through each step of the transfer process."
Background
"Originally from Pretoria, I began working at attorneys right after matric and joined the conveyancing world in 2009. In 2021, I moved to Nelspruit and continued my career as a conveyancing secretary.
Driven by my passion for property law, I went back to school in 2022 to complete my LLB, which I earned in 2024 — all while maintaining my full-time role."
Motivation for enrolling at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law
"I did my diploma in conveyancing practice through Gawie le Roux back in 2009/2010."
Charmaine's tips for PVT students
"Plan ahead! When you get your timetable, make it your first priority. Work around it. Four months go by so quickly, and you will thank yourself (it is okay to put your social life aside for a while). Don’t leave the assignments for the last minute."
"Do the assignments while everything is still 'fresh' in your mind."
On professional and personal values
"My work philosophy centres on clear communication, attention to detail, and putting clients first. Outside the office, I’m married and a proud mom of a nine-year-old son. I love spending quality time with my family and being outdoors, enjoying nature."
What's next?
"To become a conveyancer."
