"I have been in the human resources field for most of my 32 years of work experience, and for the last 18 years, I have been in a senior HRM position. Currently, I work in the healthcare environment, but I have also spent close to a decade in the steel manufacturing industry."

On facing challenges
"The biggest challenge I faced was balancing my professional responsibilities and personal commitments with my studies. I managed this by carefully planning my time, prioritising tasks, and making full use of the time allocated to complete assignments and tests to the best of my ability."
Christine's tips for PVT students
"The key is time management. The moment you receive your schedule, plan your time around it and commit to that plan. Avoid unnecessary postponements and only delay if there is a serious emergency. Make sure to re-watch the videos and review the notes in your own time. This approach ensures you remain well-prepared for tests and assignments."
On role models
"I have several role models whom I look up to. In my personal life, my first HR manager, Marina Francis, who noticed my potential and supported me throughout my life's journey, even today.
In the legal profession, I look up to Dr Llewelyn Curlewis, Sarita Gerber and Prof. Hermie Coetzee from Akademia, whom I regard as one of the best lecturers and lawyers. Dr Curlewis was one of my lecturers at Akademia and now again at the GLR PVT School. His wealth of knowledge and experience across various aspects of the law continues to inspire me. No matter his busy schedule, if you needed help or clarification on something, he would go the extra mile to assist and ensure you are equipped with the necessary knowledge."
What's next?
"I am passionate about HR because it allows me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by improving their work environment, maintaining staff morale, and providing support to management to ensure fair and consistent disciplinary action across the board."
