Loretty Mumba successfully completed the coursework for the LPC-accredited 400-hour GLR PVT School and is currently seeking articles.
Her dedication, commitment and effort earned her recognition as a top achiever at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law's PVT Awards Ceremony in January 2025.
She is eligible to apply for admission as an attorney after she has completed one year of articles and passed all four papers of the Legal Practice Council's competency-based exams since she has completed a more comprehensive practical vocational training programme.

"I hold a BA in Law from the University of Johannesburg and an LLB from the University of South Africa. Throughout my legal studies, I was impassioned by human rights and socio-economic justice and advocacy. I further interned at the Socio-Economic Rights Institute (SERI), where I gained further experience in these areas of law in research, litigation, and advocacy. Seeking to help my community, I volunteered and work as a sectional title trustee, managing property governance, financial oversight, dispute resolution, levy collection, and legal compliance."

Loretty's tips for PVT students
- Prioritise time management. Schedule your study and practical tasks to avoid being overwhelmed, including scheduling rest.
- Be consistent and approach every task with the same level of focus, as these skills will serve you well in not only understanding the content but also completing the assignments and tests.
- Be prepared to sacrifice some weekends if you’re juggling work or other responsibilities. Planning will make this more manageable.
What's next?
"My goal is to pass the LPC's admission exams, complete articles, and become a competent legal practitioner who uses the law to promote justice, advocate for human rights, and effect meaningful change. I also aspire to contribute to the field of law and justice both nationally and internationally in the future."
