Marcelle Nel

Marcelle Nel successfully completed the coursework for the LPC-accredited GLR PVT School.

He is eligible to apply for admission as an attorney after he has completed one year of articles and passed all four papers of the LPC's competency-based exams, since he has completed a more comprehensive practical vocational training programme.

About Marcelle

"I'm a Candidate Attorney at Zietsman-Horn Inc."

Background

"I completed my LLB (UNISA) cum laude in 2022.  I worked in the healthcare industry in various hospitals as an administration and admissions clerk from 2015 until the end of 2019."

Motivation for enrolling at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law

"My principal at the law firm I am employed with suggested GLR as she did the conveyancing course through GLR."

On facing challenges

"I am employed full time, have a wife and a 2-year-old son, which, needless to say, takes a lot of energy and time.  I had to work hard, study late, and sacrifice sleep and comfort in order to achieve the goals I set for myself."

Marcelle's tips for candidate attorneys

"You have to study with the view of understanding the work.  Parrot learning is never enough to build skills and concretise learning."

What's next?

"I aspire to become a director at the firm I work at and to do conveyancing and administration of estates in the long term."
